LEDEBOURIA

This genus of about 60 species is related to the Scilla species of the northern hemisphere and was once included within it. They are mainly distributed through summer rainfall areas of southern Africa. They are mostly grown for their interesting and often beautifully spotted of patterned foliage although the flowers can be lovely too.

Most species are dormant in winter and lose their leaves at this time.
