NECTAROSCORDUM

A small genus of bulbs related to the Allium family and contains 3 species native to Southern Europe, West Asia and Iran. The name of the genus means ‘ a nectar bearing onion’. They flower in late Spring with bell-shaped blooms held in an umbel atop tall stems.  These bulbs make a great addition to borders in both flower and seed pod. Plant in well drained sunny position with a moderate amount of complete fertiliser and lime.  Normal Spring rains are usually sufficient but water once a week if conditions are dryer than normal.  Can be left undisturbed for several years but top dress in late Autumn.

Available January to March
