DICENTRA

Dicentra commonly known as Bleeding Heart are a genus of approximately 20 annual and perennial species from Asia and North America that are found in woodland areas. These beautiful plants prefer afternoon shade in a humus-rich soil that prefers to be kept moist during flowering period but good drainage beneficial. The flowers are pendant and heart shaped and all with attractive fern-like foliage. Flowering from mid-spring to late summer. Division of crowns and stolons during the Winter months.  Remove old foliage at the end of Winter and top dress with Blood and Bone.

Please note that the classic 'Bleeding Heart' Dicentra spectabilis is now known as Lamprocapnos and can be found in our product list under this new name.
