This North American species commonly called 'swamp lily' can be found growing around the water courses of California and Oregon. The blooms are heavily reflexed and brilliant orange in colour, with a mass of fine peppering of nearly spots towards the attractive green nectary.  Foliage is thin linear lush green on stems to 1metre.  This species differs from L.paradalinum and L.humboltii in bulb, foliage and flower size. It is a truly graceful turks cap species.
