FLAME LILY

Gloriosa along with Sandersonia and Littonia are now classified as belonging to the Colchicaceae family. It is debatable as to how many species actually belong to this genus .[FS,DT,FH]

Sandersonia commonly called Golden Lily of the Valley, is a member of the Liliaceae family, has only a single species in its genus. They are now rare in their native habitat in Natal, South Africa. Loves a Sunny spot and only requires water during the growing period until the flowers have finished, we then find it to be more drought tolerant than we expected. [FS, FH, DT]

AURANTIACA: One of the desirable plants in cultivation, it flowers in December, growing to 60cm high and producing upwards of 25 glorious thimble sized golden bells on dainty arching pedicels. An excellent cut flower.
