LILY OF THE VALLEY
Most botanists believe there is only one species in this genus, but some have recognised several species. These well loved and delightfully perfumed creeping perennials are native to the forest floor of Europe, in the temperate areas. Therefore, in our climate, thriving best in a semi-shaded, humus-rich situation that is not too dry. Blooming more freely after a long cold winter. Requires afternoon shade and usually only natural Spring rains. (WC, DT, FH)
