TROUT LILIES
Erythroniums. A genus of 20 species, with all but one from Europe and Asia the rest from North America. Their common name 'Trout Lilies' coming from their native habitat where they grow along the banks of streams. These exquisite woodland plants with lily-like flowers in early spring, revel in a semi-shaded situation with leaf mould. [FH, WC]
